Privacy, in plain language.
How Gekode handles information shared through this website. This notice covers website enquiries and the essential technology used to operate the site.
Who is responsible?
Gekode is the website and CRM business of Mike Bernasconi, based in Accrington, Lancashire, previously branded Websites By Mike. You can contact us about your information through the contact page. Please identify the request as a privacy enquiry so it can be handled appropriately.
Information you choose to share.
The project enquiry form asks for your name, email address, optional business or website details, the kind of project and a message. We use this information to respond, discuss your requirements and take steps towards a project if you request them. For prospective contractual work the basis may be taking steps at your request before entering a contract; general business correspondence may be handled on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering enquiries. Sending a project enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing.
Storage, service providers and retention.
Enquiries are stored in the WordPress website’s submissions area and may be sent to the business’s administration inbox. Hosting and email providers process information as needed to operate those services. We do not sell enquiry information. Information is retained only while needed for the enquiry, an agreed project, record-keeping or establishing and defending legal claims. Access is limited to people who need it for those purposes. Please do not send passwords, payment details or sensitive customer records through the enquiry form.
Cookies and external services.
WordPress and its security tools may use essential cookies and technical request information to operate the site, protect sign-in and prevent abuse. Administrative sign-in uses cookies that are separate from ordinary browsing. This build does not intentionally add advertising pixels or analytics tracking. Fonts used in the Gekode design are supplied with the website. If optional analytics or embedded services are added, the relevant information and consent controls need to be updated before those tools run.
Your choices and rights.
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict processing, object to processing or request a portable copy. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it. Some requests are subject to legal conditions, and we may need to verify your identity. Contact us through the website to raise a request or concern. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/. This notice was prepared on 4 November 2026 and should be reviewed when the website’s services or data handling change.
